In 2018, Portugal launched one of the most attractive financial incentive programs in Europe for film and television.
It offers a 25 to 30 per cent cash rebate on all eligible production costs, paid up front in installments. It is available for films, scripted TV series, mini-series, television movies, animation, documentaries and postproduction work, made or partly made in Portugal. Production scouting can also be subsidised, rules and regulations have been published July 2019.
